Rates are not the only consideration when shopping for a mortgage. But they get all the attention.
Consumers often compare mortgage rates as if they were shopping for the best deal on a DVD player or a trip to Mexico. But borrowing money is an entirely different endeavor because a consumer’s individual financial profile directly affects the terms of the loan. Banks aren’t selling 60″ plasmas, they’re investing in real estate. And like all other investments, the transaction involves a certain amount of risk. CVS, the nation’s largest chain of pharmacy stores, has signed a lease as the first retail tenant at Aqua. CVS will anchor a 37,000-thousand square-foot retail component with a 12,000-square-foot pharmacy on the ground level of the unique 82-story tower designed by Jeanne Gang, principal of Studio Gang Architects.
Headquartered in Woonsocket, R.I., CVS operates some 6,300 pharmacy stores in 40 states, employs 190,000 people and ranks 24th on the Fortune 500 list of corporations with approximately $80 billion in annual revenue. In addition to ranking first in store count, CVS is the nation’s largest employer of pharmacists and nurse practitioners and the nation’s leading provider of prescriptions with more than one billion prescriptions filled or managed annually.
