Over 70 artists create a fantastic cityscape.  Mostly cardboard, each reflects the artist’s take on Chicago.  Participating artists will be present for a diorama workshop-demonstration (for adults and children 8 and up accompanied by an adult) taking place on Saturday February 21.

In celebration of Lane Tech Prep High School’s 100th anniversary, this special exhibit presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs highlights 11 outstanding paintings from 1909 to 1913.  Progressive-era murals by George Brandt and others valued for their aesthetics, historical connect, and narrative will be featured.

CVS Coming to Aqua

CVS, the nation’s largest chain of pharmacy stores, has signed a lease as the first retail tenant at Aqua.  CVS will anchor a 37,000-thousand square-foot retail component with a 12,000-square-foot pharmacy on the ground level of the unique 82-story tower designed by Jeanne Gang, principal of Studio Gang Architects. 

            Headquartered in Woonsocket, R.I., CVS operates some 6,300 pharmacy stores in 40 states, employs 190,000 people and ranks 24th on the Fortune 500 list of corporations with approximately $80 billion in annual revenue.  In addition to ranking first in store count, CVS is the nation’s largest employer of pharmacists and nurse practitioners and the nation’s leading provider of prescriptions with more than one billion prescriptions filled or managed annually.
