Chicago Theater

Chicago’s theater scene includes talented local companies and top-notch traveling troupes in classic theaters as well as smaller venues. The downtown Theater District is host to mega-hit musicals, plays, and dance productions straight from Broadway as part of Broadway in Chicago.  Millennium Park plays host to outdoor concerts in the famous Pritzker Pavilion during the summer season. The birthplace of Chicago blues, Chicago's thriving music scene is home to big name concerts such as Lollapalooza and soul-stirring performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera of Chicago, while popular local venues for blues, jazz, rock, hip-hop, and more are packed nightly.

Chicago Sports

Though the Chicago sports teams have had their highs and their lows over the years, the local fans are always behind them. The Chicago Bears football team, known for their impressive defense and exciting offense, plays at the newly renovated Soldier Field located just south of Millenium Park.  Hockey fans will enjoy seeing the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team play live at the United Center, the largest arena in the United States.  The United Center is also home to the Chicago Bulls basketball team, winners of multiple national championships - and who can forget the legendary Michael Jordan?  In addition, Chicago is fortunate to have two major league baseball teams, the Chicago White Sox, who play on the south side at U.S. Cellular Field, and the lovable Cubs, who call the north side Wrigley Field home.  Last but not least, the Chicago Fire soccer team plays at Toyota Field to a diverse crowd of soccer enthusiasts.

Festivals & Special Events:

Chicago is host to numerous special events throughout the year including the Taste of Chicago, a unique food festival that allows visitors to sample the best of the city’s restaurants, the Chicago Blues Festival, where the world’s finest blues musicians gather, the Chicago Air & Water show, and Venetian Night, when dozens of elaborated decorated boats sail the Chicago River amidst a spectacular fireworks display.
